When disaster strikes and you lose your car, finding a replacement quickly can feel overwhelming. After my vehicle was totaled in a hailstorm, I thought going through a dealership would be the safest and most reliable way to get back on the road. Unfortunately, that decision turned out to be one of my biggest mistakes.
What I expected was professionalism and peace of mind. What I got was hassle after hassle and a car that started breaking down almost immediately.
Here’s my experience:
Don’t buy from here. Shady dealers.
Check engine light came on second day I had it. They repaired that after a hassle. The day I got it out of the shop the check engine light came on again.
The third day I had the A/C stopped blowing cold air. They just put in enough freon to last till I bought it! Had to do an oil & cabin filter change right away.
Plus replace windshield wipers.
Alot of other issues. It is a 2014 I had to buy after my car was totaled due to hail damage. I realize it’s an older car but I thought it would be better to buy from a dealership. Dealership.
What made the whole situation worse was how carefully the problems seemed hidden. The A/C worked just long enough to get me off the lot. The check engine light didn’t show up until the second day. And the smaller issues — like worn filters and bad wipers — were all things I shouldn’t have had to deal with right after a purchase.
I thought buying from a dealership would protect me from these kinds of headaches. Instead, I ended up with the very problems I was trying to avoid.
The Takeaway
This wasn’t just bad luck. This was a dealership that knowingly passed off problems instead of being transparent. For anyone who thinks buying from a dealer means you’ll be in safer hands, think again.
The lesson here is simple: don’t buy from this dealership. The peace of mind you’re hoping for will be gone the second you drive away.
